Road Realignment Design
Access roads in and around the West Elk Coal Mine were subject to landslides due to the sloping stratigraphy of the earth upon which the access roads were constructed and surface drainage conditions. Working with a geotechnical engineer, Enertia realigned the failing road segments to better conform to the underlaying geological conditions and manage the conveyance of surface water runoff. Enertia prepared roadway and drainage design plans and specifications suitable for bidding and inspected the construction of the mitigation efforts.
